Thursday Getaway: The Great Barrier Reef

From where we live, work and play, things are getting a bit cooler and quieter. The brightness of summer has faded and we're cozying up with warm coffee and our loved ones just a bit more. This Thursday, we invite you to enjoy some sights of a brighter, sunnier and warmer place: The Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland in northeastern Australia.

Adventure photographer Krystle Wright, recently written up in Outside as "the badass woman who's owning adventure photography," is an Australian native, and snapped some shots of her time in Far North Queensland. Here's how she described her photos: "Here's a bit of what I've been up to, from walking the shoreline of Lizard Island to Kite surfing off Eagle Island. I then took the Klean SUP-ing on Mitchell River, where thankfully no crocodiles reside. But head downstream and it's a different story."
