Thursday Getaway: A National Park Love Letter

Theodore Roosevelt said, “We have fallen heirs to the most glorious heritage a people ever received and our people should see to it that they are preserved for their children and their children’s children forever, with their majestic beauty all unmarred.”

This year, as we collectively celebrate 100 years of our National Park service, these words remain truer than ever. Together, we have kept some of our country's most outstanding natural places safe and public for the enjoyment of all, young and old – and that's something to celebrate! As a part of the centennial celebration, our friends at O.A.R.S. have launched the #ShareTheWonder campaign, a way for everyone to help pay tribute to their favorite national parks. As O.A.R.S puts it, "we believe the best way to ensure our national parks are preserved for the enjoyment of future generations is to take people into the wilderness and share the wonder of these wild places, because we know we save what we love and we love what we know."

Starting this month, O.A.R.S will be giving away a trip for two to one of four national parks, along with a pair of Chacos and a one-year subscription to AFAR magazine. Just follow this link to complete your entry – it's your chance at winning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to one of our outstanding national parks.
