We are delighted to once again be partnering with GoPro Mountain Games, the world’s most exciting mountain sports and lifestyle event, in an effort to reduce waste through our Cup Karma® program.
Cup Karma helps events eliminate waste by offering incentives for the use of Klean Kanteen drinkware, instead of single-use disposables. The GoPro Mountain Games will offer discounts on drinks purchased in reusable Klean Kanteen stainless steel pints throughout the Mountain Games–an incentive for attendees to use the sustainable drink solution and a token of appreciation for doing the right thing.
“Klean has had a longstanding partnership with the GoPro Mountain Games for years because we share the same ethos and values,” says Jeff Cresswell, co-owner of Klean Kanteen. “We are excited to expand on our efforts this year with a Klean-hosted public clean-up at the Games. We hope to inspire other events to reduce single-use waste–and in doing so, our collective impact.” Each Klean Kanteen reusable pint is designed to be used beyond the GoPro Games for years to come, and Klean encourages reusable solutions wherever possible. This past year, Klean launched the Bring Your Own project to amplify their mission and encourage a shift of habits from to-go cups and bottled water to reusable products that last a lifetime.
On June 10, Klean will be co-hosting a trail restoration and clean-up day with the Mountain Games in honor of Klean’s non-profit partner, American Rivers. “We’re excited to expand our partnership with Klean Kanteen this year and give back to the community with this new event,” says Tom Boyd, PR Director of the GoPro Mountain Games. “We appreciate the beautiful stage that Vail sets for the annual GoPro Mountain Games and cleaning up the trails and rivers is the best way we can show our gratitude to our community.”
The GoPro Mountain Games will bring more than 60,000 spectators to beautiful Vail, Colorado on June 9-12, 2016. The event boasts more than 25 different competitions in nine disciplines, including trail running, half marathon, kayaking, SUP, rafting, mountain biking, road biking, disc golf, slacklining, fly fishing, DockDogs and photography. It also draws both regional and global athletes, who compete for more than $100,000 in cash prizes.
